y.m.a. is the new artist project from Brooklyn indie-pop singer/songwriter Yas Akdag. Raised in London, y.m.a. moved to New York to attend NYU's Clive Davis Institute, where she refined her songwriting craft and desire to tell stories through music. Her forthcoming EP petrichor — written entirely in London after temporarily moving back there in the fall of 2025 — will be released in fall/winter 2026. Recorded in Brooklyn, petrichor traces the nuances and lessons that come with entering your mid-twenties, while offering a glimpse into feeling torn between two cities.
